Women Galore was created in early 2016 by The Wild Detectives and Lauren Smart as a way to pursue gender parity at the Oak Cliff bookshop. For the entire month of May the shop dedicates its events, attention, marketing efforts and outreach to non-male-identifying writers and artists. Entering its third year, WG has become a month-long feminist cultural festival.

Building community one conversation at a time.

Women Galore believes in the power of words. We're not interested in the perspective of one person but the perspective of many. Through thinking, through writing, through talking, through listening we can achieve a better understanding of the world we share.

Inciting activism to build the world we want for future generations of women.

We're also interested in doing. The month of Women Galore introduces attendees to some of the country's greatest feminist thinkers, but also some of the city of Dallas' greatest doers. We hope the events dedicated to activism empower you to get involved.

Balancing serious discussions with fun events.

A dance party never hurt anyone. Life is too long not to have a good time. The month of Women Galore includes cocktail parties, DJ nights, happy hours, and more.
